Man who rammed into cars in Sungai Buloh caught

PETALING JAYA: The suspect known as "Bob Mah Sing" has been nabbed in Shah Alam.

The 40-year-old man was one of two men in a Proton Waja, which rammed into several vehicles to avoid being apprehended by police in Sungai Buloh.

Videos of the incident, where police were forced to fire shots in an attempt to disable the vehicle, went viral on social media and WhatsApp.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal said the suspect was detained at about 11.45pm on Friday at an apartment in Shah Alam.

"He has 20 criminal records for various offences," he said when contacted today.

Bob's accomplice was arrested earlier on Friday in Desa Aman following a tip off, he added.

"We will remand both suspects today," ACP Nik Ezanee said.

It was reported that patrol cars from Gombak began chasing the Proton Waja from Kampumg Desa Aman to the Sierramas roundabout at Sungai Buloh on Friday.

"They instructed the two men in the vehicle to exit but they refused and rammed into several vehicles to escape," ACP Nik Ezanee had said.

He said police were forced to fire shots at the vehicle when they rammed into one of the police cars.

"The suspects ditched their vehicle along Jalan Kuala Selangor - Sungai Buloh when it suffered a puncture.

"K-9 and Forensic units managed to detect 1.7gm of heroin in the vehicle," he said.

ACP Nik Ezanee also urged those with information on the incident to contact the police hotline at 03-2052 9999 or the nearest police station.
