LONDON: "Friends" star Matt LeBlanc has landed a new role as the co-presenter of the BBC motor show "Top Gear."

The US actor will join current host Chris Evans when the series returns to screens in May this year, the BBC has confirmed.

"As a car nut and a massive fan of Top Gear, I'm honoured and excited to be a part of this iconic show's new chapter," said Matt. "What a thrill!"

LeBlanc has previously appeared as a guest on the show, setting the fastest-ever time in the ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car' segment when he achieved an as-yet unbeaten lap time of 1m 42.1s in the Kia cee'd.
