PETALING JAYA: Fuel prices for the next one week will remain the same as those last week.

The prices of RON97 and RON95 will remain at RM1.55 per litre and RM1.25 per litre respectively from May 2 until May 8, according to the Finance Ministry.

The price of diesel will remain at RM1.40 per litre.

"The government will continue to monitor the impact of global crude oil price changes and will take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people," the ministry said in a statement on Friday (May 1).

The weekly fuel pricing mechanism was reintroduced on Jan 5 last year under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

Under this system, fuel prices are announced every Friday and remain in force for one week.
