By CARSIFU | 07 November 2024STUTTGART: Mercedes-Benz CEO Ola Källenius has revealed some details about the upcoming CLA due to premiere in 2025.
In a detailed first drive at Mercedes-Benz’s test facility in Immendingen, 130km south of here, Källenius offered insights into the upcoming 2025 CLA model.
This new CLA marks the start of an all-new model family and a pivotal shift for Mercedes-Benz’s entry segment, aimed at delivering superior efficiency, range, and charging capabilities.
Buyers will have the option between an advanced electric drivetrain and a high-tech hybrid combustion engine, blending performance with environmental responsibility.
The electric version of the CLA incorporates technology from Mercedes-Benz’s EQXX concept, pushing the limits of electric performance and efficiency with a two-speed transmission.
This drivetrain, developed in-house, balances sporty handling with energy efficiency.
Meanwhile, a new high-tech hybrid engine, developed as part of Mercedes-Benz’s MMA family, combines 48V technology with an electrified transmission, promising a refined, enjoyable driving experience.
Central to the 2025 CLA is Mercedes-Benz’s new MB.OS operating system, debuting in this model alongside the MBUX Virtual Assistant.
This AI-driven assistant facilitates natural, intuitive interactions, enhancing the driver’s experience through proactive support and seamless integration.
Design elements from the Concept CLA Class, including distinctive headlights and a sporty, modern exterior, are expected to distinguish this model.
Källenius said the CLA’s modular platform allows flexibility across drivetrains.
