Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 e PHEV launched from RM374,000

SHAH ALAM: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has unveiled a new GLC 300 e Coupe 4Matic plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) addition to the GLC line-up.

The locally-assembled high-riding four-door Coupe is available at the recommended retail selling price of RM374,073, valid until the end of the sales tax exemption on June 30.

From July 1, the PHEV will be priced from RM398,888. The vehicle features a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor combination that outputs 320PS and 700Nm of torque for a 0-100kph dash in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 230kph.

On all-electric drive, the vehicle has a range of 40km and a top speed of 140kph. Individually, the engine cranks out 211hp and 350Nm of torque while the electric motor delivers 90kW and 440Nm of torque.

The grille is a contoured diamond radiator with an integrated star and single front louvre typical of a Mercedes-Benz Coupe model. Also included are Multibeam LED headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist, AMG Line specifications, night package, 20-inch AMG five twin-spoke light-alloy wheels and braking system with larger front disc brakes.

Inside, trim elements are open-pore black ash wood centre console and a light longitudinal-grain aluminium inserts. Featuring the AMG Line interior and leather upholstery, the multifunction sports steering wheel comes wrapped in premium nappa leather.

The parking package consists of a 360° camera, Active Parking Assist with Parktronic. The all-digital instrument displays also gets the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system, while safety features include Active Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Active Brake Assist.

Meanwhile, sensors in the ball head and a magnetic ring measure the angle between GLC 300 e and a towed trailer. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia vice-president (sales and marketing) Michael Jopp said the GLC is more efficient overall now because it has the ability to recover energy during braking and allows the combustion engine to run in favourable operating ranges.
