KUALA LUMPUR: The Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4Matic has been updated to keep it in the lead as the "S-Class among SUVs."

The model refresh focuses on enhancements to the vehicle's exterior and interior design, telematics, and drive systems, aiming to elevate the luxury SUV experience to new heights.

Externally, the GLS 450 4Matic boasts a more prominent radiator grille finished in high-quality Silver Shadow, alongside a redesigned bumper featuring integrated air inlet grilles with a high-gloss black surround.

The vehicle introduces new paint options, including Sodalite Blue Metallic and Manufaktur Alpine Grey Solid, and is equipped with 22-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels and aluminium-look illuminated running boards.

Additional exterior features include adaptive Multibeam LED headlights with animated Mercedes-Benz pattern projection and the comprehensive Guard 360° system for all-around vehicle monitoring.

Inside, the GLS 450 4Matic sees an upgrade to the latest generation of the MBUX infotainment system, offering customisable display styles and modes for a tailored user experience.

The MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment System provides rear passengers with 11.6-inch touch displays for in-motion entertainment and internet browsing. The Widescreen Cockpit combines the instrument and media displays under a single glass cover, seamlessly integrating into the interior design.

The interior also features a multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather, upholstery in rough leather or leather black, and dashboard and door beltlines in Artico man-made leather.

Multicontour front seats include active cushions, a hot stone massage effect, seat heating, and ventilation. Rear passengers enjoy multicontour seats with massage function and lumbar support, alongside the Rear Comfort Package Plus, which includes luxury head restraints, an MBUX rear seat tablet, and a wireless charging system for mobile devices.

Driving assistance technologies such as Active Parking Assist with Parktronic and the "Off-Road Mode" enhance safety and performance.

The latter, a feature of the current MBUX generation, turns off-road driving data into a visual experience, including a "transparent bonnet" function that uses the 360-degree camera to display a virtual view under the vehicle's front, aiding in the navigation of obstacles.
