KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced MB.Charge Public, which offers a seamless and connected charging experience for plug-in hybrid and all-electric Mercedes-Benz customers.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is collaborating with seven Charging Point Operator partners, namely CarputZap, Charge+, ChargeSini, ChargeV, DC Handal, Gentari, and JomCharge, to bring MB.Charge Public to customers across Malaysia.
“Bringing MB.Charge Public to Malaysia marks the next chapter in Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s electric mobility journey. The strength of this offering lies in the ecosystem behind it, bringing together our vehicles, the Mercedes-Benz App, and an expanding network of Charging Point Operator partners," said Mercedes-Benz Cars Malaysia chief operating officer (COO) Nadia Trimmel.
Through MB.Charge Public, customers gain access to a suite of innovative features designed to simplify public charging.
With more than 3,000 charging points across over 1,000 locations from seven Charging Point Operators, customers have easy access to one of the largest charging networks in the country.

There is also charging station display and intelligent route planning.
MBUX navigation displays the location and real-time availability of charging points, whether in the vicinity or at the destination, while showing only those compatible with the specific vehicle.
Customers can further refine results by charging speed with the filtering function.
Navigation with Electric Intelligence plans the fastest and most comfortable route including charging stops based on numerous factors.
With a charging contract at MB.Charge Public, customers can charge conveniently regardless of the respective charging station operator.
Authentication at the charging station is done via the MBUX multimedia system or the Mercedes-Benz App, with charging status available for monitoring directly through the app.

Before charging, the exact prices per kilowatt-hour or minute, as well as the estimated costs to reach the maximum charge level for fully electric vehicles, are displayed.
Charging sessions are automatically deducted and invoiced through MB.Charge Public, with all past transactions accessible via the Mercedes-Benz Customer Portal and Mercedes-Benz App.
There will be no mark up on the service as customers will only be charged the prevailing rate of the given charging station.
Also, MB.Charge Public enables access to charging networks across Malaysia and Singapore through a single charging service.
The service provides access to charging networks from Charge+, ComfortDelGro Energy (CDG ENERGY), SP Group, and Volt, with all charging sessions managed through one billing system.
Mercedes-Benz customers from Singapore can likewise use MB.Charge Public to access the extensive public charging network in Malaysia.
