KUALA LUMPUR: MG Motor Malaysia recently supported the Malaysian leg of the Specialised Mavericks’ charity ride for Tour de Cure, a global initiative dedicated to raising vital funds and awareness for cancer research.
In a statement, MG Motor Malaysia said the 900km plus cycling mission from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and back brought together a community united by resilience, purpose and compassion.
"More than a test of endurance, the journey reflected a shared commitment to raising awareness and support for those affected by cancer, with every kilometre symbolising hope, solidarity and strength," said MG Motor Malaysia.
As part of this cross-border initiative led by Eurokars Group and MG Singapore, MG Motor Malaysia contributed by providing the MGS5 EV (electric vehicle) to serve as a local guide and second support vehicle during the Malaysian leg of the ride.

The vehicle played an important role in helping the convoy navigate unfamiliar local routes while providing additional on-road support and visibility for the cyclists.
The ride began in the early hours of April 2, when the Specialised Mavericks set off from Singapore.
Their journey was inspired by deeply personal experiences with cancer among family members, teammates and friends.
For the Malaysian portion of the route, the presence of MG Motor Malaysia’s support vehicle formed part of the wider safety and logistics effort surrounding the ride.
Together with the lead support vehicle from MG Singapore, the convoy was designed to give riders additional confidence and protection throughout their long-distance challenge.
The initiative underscores the spirit of regional collaboration within the MG network, with teams in Singapore and Malaysia coming together in support of a shared cause.
Beyond vehicles and logistics, the campaign highlighted how mobility can play a broader role in enabling purposeful journeys that resonate with communities across borders.
