KUALA LUMPUR: The MGS5 EV (electric vehicle) is now priced at RM107,900 (for the COM variant), RM117,900 (COM Long Range) and RM127,900 (LUX Long Range).
SAIC Motor Malaysia announced the revised prices, which are effective immediately.
All variants come with the Ultimate Ownership package, offering savings of up to RM10,000, which includes a free 7kW AC wallbox charger or the option to select charging credits.
Customers can also explore the MG Ultimate Financing package, which provide personalised financing solutions through authorised MG dealers nationwide.
“This price revision reflects our commitment to make EV ownership more attainable for Malaysians as we prepare for the next phase of MG’s localisation strategy,” said SAIC Motor Malaysia managing director Emory QiFeng.
“With local assembly plans already in motion, we are ensuring that our customers benefit from greater value and flexibility while we expand MG’s presence in Malaysia.”
Both COM and LUX variants deliver 170PS and 250Nm of torque via a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration, currently the only one in its segment.
The COM variant offers a choice between a 49kWh or 62kWh battery, delivering up to 340km and 430km of WLTP range respectively, while the LUX variant features the 62kWh battery as standard.
All variants come equipped with 7kW AC charging capabilities.
The LUX variant further supports DC fast charging of up to 150kW, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in just 26 minutes.
It also has premium features such as 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leather-fabric seats with perforated MG logos, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated leather steering wheel, wireless phone charging pad, six premium speakers, a powered tailgate, and a 360-degree surround view camera.
Both variants feature LED headlamps with ‘Racing Flag’ themed DRLs and MG’s signature Arch Taillights with the same distinctive motif.
Additional highlights include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8-inch central infotainment touchscreen with voice command, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and MG’s iSMART connectivity system.
Boot space is generous, offering up to 1,441 litres including the underfloor compartment.
Designed with an ultra-thin Horizontal Battery Layout, the MGS5 EV maximises interior space while maintaining a low centre of gravity setting a new benchmark in its segment.
Its advanced adaptive pressure control system minimises battery cell expansion, enhancing both safety and battery longevity.
