The event is an exclusive annual event where Michelin gifted a select few who posted the fasted lap time around a digital version of the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from between May 13 and June 16.
The winners could become a racer for a day and experience a rare glimpse into the world of motorsport racing on July 18 and will join 25 others from Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and Australia at the SIC track itself.
The Malaysian winners are 37-year old auditor Ong Koon Liang from Cheras, 30-year old software engineer Kamahlaan Thiagarajan from Kota Damansara, 31-year old project engineer Tan Eng Tat, Khee Chun Hiew and Ling Yew Heng were the ones who set the fast lap times around the digital version of the SIC.
One of the winners, Ong, was a participant for last year’s Right 2 Race online contest who had missed out in making it into the top five placing and was ecstatic to that he made it this year.
“After the experience last year, I knew I could be one of the winners if I put in extra effort in the online game this year and I did it! I am really excited to have won and am looking forward to this unique experience with all the other winners,” he said.
The game attracted more than 5,252 participants and Michelin Malaysia managing director Beltran de Yturriaga was on hand to present the five proud local winners with the passes to the special event.
The MICHELIN Pilot Sport Experience offers several unique motorsport experiences that include rally, Formula 4 and GT Race Car Driving Experiences.
It also includes hot laps with professional racers in a few high performance racecars that will be introduced for the first time during this year’s MPSE.
