KUALA LUMPUR: BMW dealer Millennium Welt has teamed up with Gentari to set up the first EV (electric vehicle) charging flagship store here.
Based on the concept of an EV charging store, the facility enables the charging of multiple vehicles at one time with a specialised store representing the brands of the BMW Group.
Apart from selling BMW cars, Millennium Welt also deals in MINI and BMW Motorrad motorcycles.
The store, said to be the first of its kind in South-East Asia, will have a sprawling space to display up to 66 electric vehicles (EVs).
The site would come with 14 charging points comprising six units of 240kW DC chargers and two units of 22kW AC chargers.
The store would have a section for selling used BMW cars and car insurance renewal service would also be available.
Millennium Welt and Gentari broke ground for the store in Jalan Kuching on Dec 13.
The store is planned to be powered completely by renewable energy sources.
Once completed, it will add to the over 1,700 BMW i and MINI chargers across Malaysia.
