LONDON: Milltek is expanding its Modern Classic range of performance exhausts with improved V2 versions for sought-after models.
Updated exhausts have been developed for the Audi RS4 B7, BMW E36 and E90 M3 generations, and Mk4 Volkswagen Golf R32. Each delivers an enhanced exhaust sound while keeping that period correct look.
Founded in the UK in 1983, Milltek manufactures performance exhaust systems.
With headquarters in Derby, UK, a development and testing centre near Germany’s iconic Nürburgring race circuit, and a recently opened United States facility in Tennessee, Milltek designs, develops and tests its range of exhaust systems in-house.
The redeveloped Audi RS4 B7 Cat Back system comes with an active H pipe adding an additional valve that closes when the rear silencer valve is open.
It gives a Jekyll and Hyde character to the exhaust, with a silent mode for normal driving and sharper tone when you want it yet with no drone.
Milltek also offers an EC-Approved system for the RS4 B7.
BMW M3 owners can enjoy an OEM+ look and feel with the Cat Back system with 70mm tips from Milltek for the E36 3.0 and 3.2 Evo M3 models.
This set-up can also be used on other E36 six-cylinder models to free up more of the engine’s iconic sounds.
The E90 generation of BMW M3 is also catered for with Milltek’s latest Cat Back system comprising left and right axle pipes, silencers and valves.
A key fob controller opens and closes the valves for an aggressive tone when desired, while OE-style tips maintain the standard look of the car.
Another modern great to the get an updated V2 system from Milltek is the Mk4 generation of Volkswagen Golf R32.
Its lusty V6 engine is complemented by a rear silencer with revised internals to give a deeper tone and more of the “wookie” noises that fans of this car love.
Combined with Milltek cats and headers, it’s the perfect set-up with no drone and the silencer can be supplied in a new brushed stainless steel finish.
It’s also a direct replacement for the previous R32 version so existing customers can easily upgrade.
“We want to see drivers and passengers of these great cars enjoying them to the full,” says Milltek technical operations manager Kev Hall.
“We’ve been adding to our Modern Classic range and revisiting many of our favourites to offer the latest technology for cars we love."
