KUALA LUMPUR: MINI Malaysia has launched three high-performance John Cooper Works (JCW) models and the new Cooper convertible.
The new JCW models are the 2.0-litre MINI JCW and two all-electric cars - MINI JCW and MINI JCW Aceman.
The petrol-powered MINI JCW delivers 170kW (231hp) and 380Nm of torque, and comes with an adaptive suspension.
Paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, it sprints from 0 to 100kph in 6.1 seconds, with a top speed of 250kph.
As for the two new all-electric models, their powertrain delivers 190kW (258hp) and 350Nm of torque, with a front-wheel drive configuration.
The all-electric MINI JCW can achieve 0-100kph in 5.9 seconds.
Meanwhile, the all-electric MINI JCW Aceman accelerates from 0-100kph in 6.4 seconds.
Both models are capable of a top speed of 200kph.
The all-electric MINI JCW has a range of up to 371km on a full charge, whereas the all-electric MINI JCW Aceman gets up to 355km.
With a gross battery capacity of 54.2 kWh, both models can charge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes, via DC charging with a maximum charging rate of 95kW.
For daily use, AC charging from 0% to 100% of up to 11kW takes just 5 hours and 15 minutes.
Meanwhile, the new Cooper convertible with an electric soft top, which opens in just 18 seconds, is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 150kW (204hp) and 300Nm of torque.
It is paired with a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with double clutch and front-wheel drive.
It can achieve a century sprint of 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 237kph.
The MINI JCW and its all-electric variant have 18-inch wheels, while the all-electric MINI JCW Aceman have 19-inch wheels and also roof railings.
In-car entertainment is provided by a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
For the all-electric models, Active Seat with electric seat adjustment and memory function is standard for the driver.

"The new MINI JCW takes up the mantle as the true torchbearer of this winning legacy, bringing to life the high-octane performance and pulse-pounding agility that have made JCW legendary,” he added.
Nagel also said, "With the introduction of the all-electric MINI JCW and also JCW Aceman, we’re bringing the unmistakable JCW driving experience to a broader audience.”
The MINI JCW is priced at RM318,888 (and add-on 12,100 for extended warranty and service package).
The all-electric MINI JCW is priced at RM218,888 (and add-on RM6,300 for extended warranty and service package).
The all-electric MINI JCW Aceman is priced at RM233,888 (and add-on RM7,300 for extended warranty and service package).
The MINI Cooper convertible is priced at RM318,888 (and add-on RM10,400 for extended warranty and service package).
Prices are with SST (sales and services tax), on the road without insurance.
The cars come with a standard two-year warranty, with the optional warranty and service extension.
Additionally, both all-electric models get a eight-year/160,000km battery warranty (whichever comes first).
With Easy Drive Financing by BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the MINI JCW, all-electric MINI JCW, all-electric MINI JCW Aceman and MINI Cooper convertible can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM3,074, RM2,263, RM2,456 and RM2,914 respectively (based on estimates of 75% loan, 100,000km mileage on a five-year tenure).
Whilst with the Straight-Line Financing Plan, the MINI JCW, all-electric MINI JCW, all-electric MINI JCW Aceman and MINI Cooper convertible can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM3,527, RM2,408, RM2,573 and RM3,527 respectively (based on estimates of an 75% loan on a seven-year tenure).
