MINI reveals Vision Urbanaut concept

MUNICH: MINI recently presented its Vision Urbanaut concept vehicle boasting of a re-interpretation of the interior spatial design that provides three themes of Chill, Wanderlust and Vibe.

The themes look to provide occupants with differing experiences in the cabin and can even be personalised in terms of fragrance, ambient lighting and music among others.

The design of the vehicle will be "MINI"-malistic in terms of the vehicle's overall size, yet still, be able to provide spacious practicality on the inside.

Externally, it will feature a virtually seamless surface with wheels pushed to its outer edges to help maximise its cabin space and will be finished in a turquoise blue dubbed Ocean Wave.

The headlights will feature a milled aluminium structure with slotted openings that will reveal the headlights when they are in use and will also have the ability to display multi-coloured graphics and will flank the octagonal grille.

The front and rear LED matrix surfaces at the front and rear will signal that automated mode has been engaged or not.

Access to the rear seats will only be provided by a sliding door on the driver's side and once opened, it will reveal a cabin utilising recycled materials free of leather and chrome.

Here, the interior's four-seater configuration will feature front swivelling seats and a fold-flat rear bench as well as a small integrated table opposite the sliding door.

Instead of a heads-up display projecting information on the inside of the windshield, drivers helming the Vision Urbanaut will have a  parallax display on the dashboard instead.

When automated driving mode is activated, the steering wheel and pedals retract and the driving display disappears from the dashboard.
