KUALA LUMPUR: Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) re-enters the sports utility vehicle (SUV) scene at full force.
Taking on the compact B-SUV segment, the Xforce is open for booking and is slated for an early April launch.
Two variants are up for choice: Urban at a tentative starting price of RM110,000 and the Ultimate from RM120,000 - prices are on-the-road, without insurance.
In conjunction with the opening for bookings, MMM is offering an exclusive early bird package for the first 1,000 customers.
This comes in the form of RM5,000 cash rebates, and three times free labour as with a 5-year maintenance cost of only RM3,978.03.
Customers will also get to participate in a “Buy 1 Free 1” contest, where those who place a booking for the Xforce before its official launch in early April will stand a chance to win another Xforce of the Ultimate variety.
In addition, existing Mitsubishi Motors owners and their immediate family members who purchase a Xforce will be entitled to an additional cash rebate of RM1,000 through the brand's loyalty programme.

Designed with modern lifestyles in mind the model redefines value in its segment," said MMM chief executive officer Takashi Sakamaki at the model's pre-launch event.

Locally assembled (CKD) at their Pekan, Pahang plant, the Xforce runs on 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels and is MMM's first SUV since the company locally discontinued the ASX in 2021.
It is a winner of the iF Design Award 2024 in the Product Design discipline, and is powered by a 1.5L engine that is paired with a CVT to deliver 105PS and 141Nm of torque.
With a 2,650mm wheelbase, it measures at 1,660mm in height, is 1,810mm wide, and a length of 4,390mm.
Practicality is expanded through its impressive 23 storage compartments with centre cooler box.
As standard the Urban option encompasses analogue gauges paired to a 4.2-inch TFT multi-info display as well as an 8-inch touchscreen head unit that supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic LED headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, leatherette seat upholstery, a six-speaker sound system, dual-zone air-conditioning and a front digital video recorder.
To better distinguish itself from the Urban's all-black surface, the Ultimate’s dashboard is of White Mélange weave and its seats come with Mocha accents.
The 8-inch digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that it comes with instead supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
A major inclusion is an amazing eight-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium Audio System that is co-engineered with Yamaha that has been optimised specifically for the model's interior.
Its dual-zone air-conditioning system adopts Panasonic's nanoe X technology for enhanced air purification.
It also has a first-in-class four selectable drive modes of Normal, Wet, Gravel, and Mud - all of them tailored to adapt seamlessly to varying road conditions.
Other notable inclusions is a wireless charging pad, blue ambient lighting, powered tailgate with kick motion function, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and an additional rear DVR.
For safety the Urban variant comes with four airbags, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane change assist, front and rear parking sensors and an around view monitor.
The Ultimate is instead equipped with six airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system and the complete Mitsubishi Motors Safety Sensing features such as forward collision mitigation with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lead car departure notification and auto high beam.
Awarded with a five-star safety rating by ASEAN NCAP, the Xforce is backed by a five-year warranty with unlimited mileage.
