Mobil launches upgraded engine oils
By CARSIFU | 22 September 2025
SINGAPORE: Mobil, a global leader in advanced lubricants, has rolled out its newly reformulated Mobil 1 and Mobil Super product lines, now meeting the latest API SQ and ILSAC GF-7A standards — the new standards for engine oil performance, protection, and sustainability.
These new standards, which took effect on March 31, 2025, and the reformulated products deliver key benefits including enhanced engine protection, improved fuel efficiency, and better emissions performance.
Mobil’s latest engine oils deliver:
- Up to 20% improved fuel economy: Thanks to advanced base oils and cutting-edge additives, the new formulations significantly reduce internal engine friction, helping drivers maximise
every drop of fuel.
- Keep your engine running like new: Mobil 1 ultimate full synthetic prevents up to 99.9% of harmful acid contaminants that damage engines, and cleaner pistons mean longer engine life - resulting in less unplanned maintenance.
- Enhanced engine protection: With up to 30x better protection for high temperatures, and outstanding wear protection, superior control of low speed pre-ignition (LSPI), Mobil 1 keeps
engines running for longer.
- Superior emissions performance: Designed to reduce harmful deposits and meet the world’s most stringent emission standards.
- Hybrid engine compatibility: Mobil 1 is specifically formulated for the unique demands of hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, protecting against water contamination, providing
outstanding emulsion stability, and ensuring optimal performance during frequent stop-start cycles.
“Our new API SQ and GF-7A certified products in the Mobil 1 and Mobil Super product lines deliver long-lasting power and prevent up to 99.9% of harmful contaminants that damage your engine. These improvements are part of our aspirations to set new standards of performance, innovation, expertise, and a commitment to excellence,” said ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte Ltd managing director (South Asia Pacific) Dean Gockel.
The upgraded Mobil 1, Mobil 1 ESP and Mobil Super have been progressively introduced across South Asian and Pacific markets since May 2025.
