The MyMAP initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote safer motorcycles by the utilisation of safety technology on motorcycles and to enhance consumer awareness on safety riding for crash prevention. The programme has the same grading standards as the New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) and was also founded by the same people who created the Asean NCAP.

Modenas chief executive officer Roslan Roskan said the certification was the first time for Modenas to receive such recognition for its products.
