SEPANG: Modenas launched its all-new Z15GT, Malaysia’s first fully-developed supermoped, during the MotoGP Malaysia weekend at Sepang International Circuit.
The Z15GT was developed over three years by a team of 31 Malaysian engineers, designers, and technicians.
The two-wheeler embodied Kawasaki’s Sugomi design philosophy which is bold, aggressive, and performance-driven, fused with inspiration from Malaysian Arowana fish, symbolising pride and strength.
The moped is powered by a 149.5cc engine developing 12.5kW at 9,500rpm, making the Z15GT the most powerful model in its class.

Key highlights include a 5.7-litre fuel tank, ABS braking, Smart Key system, hazard lights, and a built-in power socket.
It is certified as an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) with a 78% localisation rate.
The Z15GT directly supports Malaysia’s National Automotive Policy 2020 and NIMP 2030 aspirations.
Modenas CEO Roslan Roskan said the motorcycle is not just a product but a statement of intent.
"From sketches in Gurun to validation in Japan, the Z15GT proves Malaysian talent can compete globally," he said.
The Z15GT comes in three colours - Graphite Grey, Nardo Grey, and Rosso Red.
It is available nationwide at an introductory price of RM8,288 (excluding insurance, road tax and registration).
