Monk at Penang temple tells off couple in MPV for obstructing traffic

GEORGE TOWN: A video showing a monk and a man in a multipurpose vehicle (MPV) shouting at each other at the Kek Lok Si Temple here has gone viral.

In the one-minute, 11-second video, the monk is seen taking a video of the MPV with his handphone and asking the driver to leave.

The MPV driver is believed to have blocked the entrance to the temple, which has been adorned with thousands of lanterns and fairy lights for Chinese New Year.

The monk can be heard saying: "No choice, you have to leave. Miss, I ask you to leave. You are causing an obstruction."

A man in the car is then heard asking the monk: "Have you taken the wrong medicine?", which leads to the monk telling him off.

"You are in the wrong and blocking the entrance. How can other cars come in?" asks the monk.
