MOT gets two Leapmotor C10 units for research
By CARSIFU | 26 August 2025
KUALA LUMPUR: Leapmotor Malaysia has handed over two units of its all-electric Leapmotor C10 to the Ministry of Transport (MOT), in support of Malaysia’s green transition and commitment to a low-carbon future.
The symbolic handover underscores the shared vision between Leapmotor’s electrification agenda and the government’s unwavering commitment to sustainable mobility.
Through the introduction of the Leapmotor C10 under a three-month testing and operational evaluation programme, MOT will be able to assess the performance, practicality, and readiness of EVs and hybrid vehicles within Malaysia’s transportation landscape.
The findings will contribute valuable insights to national EV infrastructure planning and play a vital role in encouraging wider EV adoption across both the public and private sectors.
This collaboration represents a significant step in advancing Malaysia’s Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB) 2021–2030, which outlines the nation’s strategy to decarbonise the land transport sector.
The LCMB emphasises reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) as a key enabler of a cleaner and more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
More for less in the Leapmotor C10
The Leapmotor C10 is now priced from RM125,000 and offers D-segment features at a C-segment price.
The improved C10 now features a new 32-litre 'frunk' and a boot tonneau cover for added convenience and cargo security.
Most notable is the enhanced 11 kW on-board charger (OBC), replacing the 6.6 kW unit, to reduce the 30%-80% charging time from 6 hours to just 4 hours.
Further enhancements include a new Direct Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and a motorised tyre inflator pump kit.
Inside, the C10 boasts an updated upholstery palette featuring a new Black and new Camel Brown interior whilst maintaining the premium, OEKO-Tex Standard 100® baby-friendly silicone textile.
The Leapmotor C10 benefits from a 6-year or 150,000km warranty, and a 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
