Motul earns SIRIM certification

SHAH ALAM: Motul, the global leader in automotive lubricants, has been certified by SIRIM QAS International, Malaysia’s leading testing, inspection, and certification body.

The certification was awarded on 10 March 2025 to Specialty Lubricants Trading (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary and authorised distributor of Motul Asia Pacific.

As part of the company’s efforts to protect customers from counterfeit products, the SIRIM conformity label will be applied to Motul products distributed through authorised channels.

Customers can look out for the SIRIM conformity label when purchasing Motul products to ensure they are receiving genuine, certified lubricants.

SIRIM QAS International CEO Md Adha Rahmat said, "This initiative sets a new benchmark for authenticity and safety. By ensuring engine oils meet stringent international standards, we are fortifying the market against fraudulent products while supporting industry integrity and consumer protection. Certified products will carry the official SIRIM certification mark, providing consumers and businesses with assurance of authenticity and reliability.”

“By promoting the use of genuine, high-performance lubricants, the certification scheme supports Malaysia’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts in reducing vehicle emissions and fostering sustainable industry practices,” he added.

“This recognition is not just a feather in our cap – it is a testament to our dedication to Malaysia’s vibrant automotive community and our customers’ trust in our product,” said Motul country manager Ravi Shankar.

“With over 30 years of history and iconic partnerships such as the Motul 12 Hours of Sepang Endurance Race and MotoGP Malaysia, we’ve forged strong connections with enthusiasts and professionals. Not only does this validate our product quality and authenticity, but it also reassures Malaysian motorists and industry professionals that Motul lubricants will continue to meet the highest standards in the industry."
