MSPAE’s Fun Drive with Gurpuri Kids a success

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Singapore Punjabi Automotive Enthusiasts (MSPAE) recently hosted a spectacular charity event, ‘Fun Drive with Gurpuri Kids,’ at SSU Kelab Aman.

The event saw over 30 children from Gurpuri Foundation treated to an unforgettable day of high-speed excitement, fun, and games.

Embodying their motto, “Unity Through Motoring,” and reflecting the national theme of unity, MSPAE members showcased their remarkable collection of one-of-a-kind cars and bikes—ranging from sleek supercars to beloved classics.

The children were given the ride of their young lives, achieving their dreams of sitting in and being driven by these dream machines.

The event successfully raised RM5,000, which was presented to Gurpuri Foundation to support their crucial work.

The day’s packed schedule, designed for maximum fun, kicked off with a grand arrival at SSU Kelab Aman, followed by welcoming speeches.

The excitement peaked with games like football and netball, a thrilling Hockey Shoot-Out, and exciting telematch races.

The children also received empowering words from two distinguished guests.

National racing legend and multiple Malaysian Rally Champion, Karamjit Singh, affectionately known as the ‘Flying Sikh,’ shared stories of perseverance and achieving speed.

He was joined by the inspiring beauty queen and accomplished figure, Dr Ranmeet Jassal (Miss Universe Malaysia Finalist), who delivered a powerful message of empowerment, urging the kids to pursue their dreams with the same drive and spirit of independence.

The event’s success, however, was best measured by the smiles on the children’s faces, a perfect reflection of the Merdeka joy.

Giani Sukhdaiv Singh Ji, the revered founder of Gurpuri Foundation, said, “Events like the ‘Fun Drive with Gurpuri Kids’ are vital for our children. It's more than just a day out; it's a profound experience that shows them how much the community cares and how bright their future can be."

"The generous RM5,000 donation will directly support our mission to provide shelter, care, and education. Seeing their faces light up as they sat in those incredible cars and bikes, feeling the passion of the MSPAE members, truly ignites their dreams, perfectly fitting the spirit of freedom and hope we celebrate this Merdeka month."

Harjit Dhillon, spokesperson of the Malaysia Singapore Punjabi Automotive Enthusiasts (MSPAE), said, “MSPAE is about more than just cars and bikes; it’s about using our shared passion for motoring to drive positive change in the community."

"Hosting this 'Fun Drive' a week before our nation's 68th Independence Day was intentional. "We wanted to reinforce the message that the spirit of Merdeka — of striving for excellence and celebrating unity — extends to every member of society, especially our youth."

"Watching Gurpuri kids’ excitement fuels our desire to continue using our hobby for good. We hope this memory drives them to pursue their own ambitions with the energy of a race car. We extend our deepest gratitude to the 22 companies and families who came forward to generously donate for this cause.”

The day concluded with a vibrant prize-giving ceremony and a final photoshoot.
