Nadi Willer launches Japanese-quality MaaS platform in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Nadi Willer Sdn Bhd has launched its Japanese-quality Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) platform, designed to provide seamless travel from a user’s starting point to their final destination via public transport.

Initially formed as a joint-venture between Nadicorp Holdings of Malaysia and Willer of Japan, the company complements existing rail and bus systems by closing the first- and last-mile gap through its mobi app - available for free on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.

The app allows users to book rides directly from their location to nearby public transport stops or stations, making connections more convenient and accessible.

Additionally, it also integrates multiple modes of transport with smart route planning tools, including a Journey Planner that offers real-time route information while also supporting Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) options that are typically accessible within 300m, or under a 10-minute walk.

The DRT services cater to short-distance neighbourhood trips such as Shah Alam (from 7am to 7pm) with 127 stops (RM2 per ride), KL Sentral (from 7am to 10:30pm) with 20 stops (RM2 per ride) and Mont Kiara (7am to 10:30pm) with 97 stops (RM3 per adult and RM0.50 per child under 12-years-old per ride).

Meanwhile, mobi Connect links commuters across different areas, such as the current Mont Kiara to Lalaport BBCC (Hang Tuah entrance) route, by providing 15 trips per day in each direction for a total of 30 trips.

It operates from 7am to 10pm (weekdays) and 9am to 10pm (weekends).

For September only, the service route is free for all passengers, after which it will cost RM8 per ride from October onwards.

Beyond digital services, the company has introduced Malaysia’s first Japanese-standard Safety Management and Driver Training programme.

The initiative trains drivers and operators in safe driving practices, passenger etiquette and operational management, combining technological innovation with reliable, high-quality offline service.

In line with its goal of advancing sustainable urban mobility, Nadi Willer has partnered with LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC) to integrate mobi DRT and mobi Connect services at the LaLaport Transportation Hub.

Together with other options such as e-hailing, bus routes, e-scooter rentals and airport transfers, the partnership enhances accessibility while reducing reliance on private vehicles.

Nadi Willer chief executive officer Ibrahim Aiman Nadzim said the company remains focused on innovation and collaboration to strengthen Malaysia’s transport ecosystem.

“Our long-term vision is to build a mobility network that is integrated, data-driven and sustainable - one that not only meets today’s needs but also prepares for the future. These products are not just solutions, but the foundation for making public transport a real alternative to private vehicles," added Aiman.
