PETALING JAYA: Malaysians are on tenterhooks as the National Security Council meets tomorrow to decide whether to impose a total movement control order (MCO) nationwide.

According to Sinar Harian, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the Prime Minister, mentris besar and chief ministers are expected to attend the meeting.

“Thse measures need to be considered by the NSC because that’s the only option available.

“All this time, we have imposed the MCO, the conditional MCO, and the rest - whether as a whole or in a targeted approach.

“As such, the total MCO may be discussed in the meeting on Friday, which involves the Prime Minister and the ministers,” he told reporters today.

Takiyuddin had attended a special security meeting in Kelantan with its Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yaakob, at the Kota Darulnaim complex.

He added that the government is trying its best to raise awareness in the community to participate in the vaccination programme.

“We are taking serious steps. Things that do not need to be given priority, we will postpone first,” he said.
