KUALA LUMPUR: Bentley's most powerful-ever sedan – the latest fourth-generation Flying Spur Speed – is available to order in Malaysia with prices starting from RM2.9mil after duties and taxes.
Deliveries are expected to begin in June.
Draped in Tourmaline Green and looking very much like its predecessor, the latest electrified Flying Spur Speed has a length of 5,316mm, width of 2,220mm and height of 1,478mm.

Powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, the block manages an output rated of 600PS and 800Nm of torque.
Performance is taken a step higher with a 190PS/450Nm electric motor that puts its total systems output at 782PS and 1,000Nm of torque.
This marks a 19% increase in power and more than 11% hike in torque over the brand’s legacy W12 engine that powered the outgoing Flying Spur Speed that had 659PS and 900Nm of punch.

Although now more powerful, the powertrain has done away with cylinder deactivation and now relies on the electric motor to rid itself of turbo lag and bring about a near-silent cruising experience.
Despite having the ability to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 3.6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 285kph, it can also travel in pure electric mode up to 76km and attain a top speed of 140kph.
Applying more than 75% of throttle will bring the engine to life.

Its 25.9kWh high-voltage battery can be fully charged in two hours and 45 minutes with an 11kW (max) charger.
Fully fuelled and charged, the Flying Spur Speed is said to provide up to 829km of travelling range with a consumption rated at 10.7 litres per 100km on the combined cycle (WLTP).
New in the Flying Spur is the Bentley Dynamic Ride and All-Wheel Steering system as well as an electronically controlled Limited-slip Differential and next-generation electronic stability control system to significantly improve comfort, manoeuvrability and traction, respectively.

Externally, this opulent cruiser comes fitted with a Speed-specific grille, front bumper, and rear diffuser as well as a Styling Specification aero package in matching body colour or optional carbon fibre.
New animated LED Welcome Lamps housed within the front doors and projected onto the ground, are also included - first seen in the Batur coupe built by the brand’s bespoke and coachbuilding division - Mulliner.
Seen here with 275/35 (front) and 315/50 (rear) series tyres, the 22-inch Ten Swept Spoke design wheels in Bright Machined finish can also be had in a combination Grey painted with Bright Machined finish as well.

Two more wheel designs are available at the behest of its discerning customer and these can be in an array of painted, Black Painted, Dark Tint and Pale Brodgar Satin finishes.
Inside, occupants enjoy all-new seating designs featuring 3D diamond quilting and a revised perforation pattern in the seat’s centre section.
The door cards and B-pillars feature a Tactile Precision 3D diamond hide.

As a first, the seats are now gifted with an optional Wellness Seating Specification for all four seats and includes Seat Auto Climate and Postural Adjust which measures and maintains the perfect temperature via zoned heating and ventilation.
The system will also soothingly and seamlessly vary the pressure on the occupants’ muscles to help minimise fatigue during a long journey.
The air conditioning system now has air ionisers, a new particulate matter filter and displays showing air quality outside and inside the vehicle.

Working with the satellite navigation system, the air conditioning system can close the ventilation system to recirculate air if it the vehicle is in a tunnel.
With newly designed instrumentation graphics included, a new Dark Chrome Specification can be optioned for the door handles, switches and speaker grilles, among others - to help complement the exterior’s dark-tine brightware effect.
There’s the standard 650W 10-speaker setup or an optional 1,500W 16-speaker from Bang & Olufsen with illuminated speaker grilles.

The range-topping 2,200W 19-speaker system with Active Bass Transducers is provided by Naim.
Regardless of choice, there are now wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto and over-the-air map updates.
As a standard inclusion, as always, are the laminated acoustic glass for the windshields and windows that reduce external noise by nine decibels.
Beyond these features, customers who choose to pair their smartphones with the vehicle will enjoy connected car services that include remote charging status, remote park assist (par or summon vehicle remotely) and remote cabin pre-conditioning - all via the “My Bentley App Studio”.
