The retail price (on the road, with BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s all-new 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance Programmes, without insurance) for the K 1600 B or 'Bagger' is RM173,500.
Combining the superior performance of the six-cylinder in-line engine with advanced equipment and features, the K 1600 B makes each long-distance ride an experience that is as comfortable as it is fascinating.
The oil/water cooled four-stroke in-line 1.6-litre six-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts delivers 160hp and maximum torque of 180Nm at 5,250rpm to allow the K 1600 B to attain a maximum speed of 200kph or 180kph if with floorboards are equipped.Fuel consumption is calculated at 5.9 litres per 100km while a closed-loop three-way catalytic converter reduces emissions to 137g per km.
A multiple-disc clutch in oil bath with a six-speed helical-toothed transmission allows more dynamic bends and greater agility.
The centrepiece of the suspension is the cast aluminium bridge-type frame, that is complemented by the BMW Motorrad Duolever on a central spring strut suspension in the front, while the rear suspension is offered via the BMW Motorrad Paralever.
Other features are the BMW Motorrad Integral ABS Pro and the Automatic Stability Control (ASC), along with three riding modes: Rain, Road and Dynamic.
The K 1600 B is also equipped with engine brake control (MSR), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Hill Start Control (HSC), electronic cruise control, as well as Dynamic ESA Next Generation (with Automatic Load Levelling) which ensures optimum handling and riding dynamics.
It also comes with Gear Shift Assistant Pro, Reverse Assistant and Tyre Pressure Control (RDC) as standard.
Also offered are the on-board computer featuring a 10.25-inch colour TFT display with Connectivity and Integrated Map Navigation powered by the BMW Motorrad Connected App, along with a charging storage for mobile phones (USB-C).
The four configurable favourites button cluster further supports intuitive operation, while the Keyless Ride system replaces the conventional ignition for greater riding convenience.
The K 1600 B also gets a range of optional equipment that have been made standard, including the Anti-Theft Alarm and Central Locking System for added safety, as well as the Audio System 2.0 for greater entertainment on every ride.
