New go-kart track opens next to PJ mall
By THE STAR | 08 February 2022PETALING JAYA: The city now has a new go-kart track built with state-of-the-art technology.
Morac Go Kart Track 1 Utama in Petaling Jaya is the second track to be built by Amprex Circuit Sdn Bhd, after the one in Langkawi.
Located beside the new wing of 1 Utama Shopping Centre, the 420m track has ample parking space and provides a great setting for racers and spectators.
The track is designed to cater to individuals and can even host large parties and functions.
Karting is an activity the whole family can enjoy.
With the right equipment, children as young as seven can also enjoy and learn the sport.
This is the first time the go-kart model Sodikart 2Drive — ideal for newbies or children — is available in Malaysia.
For single-seater karts, the Sodikart RT10 go-kart, which is making its Asian debut, is deemed to have the highest level of safety and loaded with groundbreaking karting technology.
Amprex Circuit claims the track has the latest and most sophisticated safety features that were first introduced at its Langkawi circuit.
A live timing LED board gives everyone a real time sense of the race, ensuring drivers and spectators are fully informed about the ongoing race and race results are sent to the drivers via email immediately at the end of their sessions.
A unique live driver tracking map keeps the spectators, on track, excited as they will know where each driver is during a session.
Also used for the first time in Asia is a live POV camera unit that will give the drivers a recording of their sessions.
