Honda Malaysia’s recently re-invigorated new City sedan is set to excite the fans of this top-selling model.
Since the model’s first introduction in Malaysia in 2002, over 423,000 units of the City have been sold locally, solidifying its continuous appeal over the years.
Now in its fifth generation, the classy new City which was refreshed in August, is available in five variants – S, E, V, RS and e:HEV RS.
New front styling.
The new City is also longer now with new front and rear Bumper designs, increasing the RS variants’ length to 4,589mm and the S, E and V’s to 4,580mm for an overall sleeker appearance and the biggest cabin space in its segment.
The RS variants get the additional sporty RS appearance that includes a new Honeycomb Front Grille, new Front Lower Grille, new Rear Diffuser, new Side Skirting, newly designed “RS” emblem and new 16-inch Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels.
Inside, the new City delivers a roomy interior with the 8-inch display audio for the RS variants now featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easier connectivity.
Rear bumpers are also redesigned.
The 60:40 Split Rear Seat Configuration allows for extra-long cargo to be carried easily while two rear Type C USB ports enable back passengers of the E, V and RS variants to charge their mobile devices conveniently while on the go.
Boot space is also equally generous at 519 litres for the petrol-powered variants.
The Enhanced Multi-Angle Rear View Camera in the E, V and RS variants also increases safety during reversing by widening the driver’s field of vision.
New 16-inch Dual-Tone Alloy Wheels.
When it comes to performance, the e:HEV RS is at the top of its class with a 1.5-litre e:HEV hybrid powertrain outputting 109PS and 253Nm of torque.
This smooth-driving hybrid is also equipped with Deceleration Selector Paddles for power regeneration and to decelerate the vehicle without stepping on the brake pedal.
The petrol variants with the 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine offering 121PS and 145Nm of torque paired to Paddle Shifters are also similarly fun to drive.
Large boot space.
When it comes to safety, the new City is highly specified with six airbags and the full suite of Honda SENSING as standard items for all variants.
Honda SENSING comes with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS), Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Auto High Beam (AHB) and Lead Car Departure Notification System (LCDN).
The e:HEV RS gets an additional feature of Low Speed Follow (LSF).
The New City is longer now.
Honda CONNECT, an innovative advanced technology which ensures Safety, Security and Convenience, is standard in the RS variants and it allows users to link up with their cars via a smartphone application.
Among its key functions are Car Status, Remote Vehicle Control, Geo-fencing Alert, Find My Car, Security Alarm Detection and Speed Alert that bring owners peace of mind, convenience and Joy of Owning a Honda car.
Buyers of the S, E and V variants can opt to have their vehicles equipped with Honda CONNECT.
A sportier proportions.
Pricing starts at RM84,900 for the S, E is RM89,900, V is RM94,900, RS is RM99,900 and e:HEV RS is RM111,900.
