New Shell Recharge App for EVs officially launched

KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Malaysia has unveiled its latest electric vehicle (EV) charging mobile app to make charging easier for drivers and owners nationwide.
The Shell Recharge App is designed to give customers an easier, more secure, and more reliable way to locate and pay for EV charging across Malaysia.

The new Shell Recharge App offers a range of features that will elevate the EV charging experience, among them:
Quick Payments: Link a debit or credit card for quick and easy payments.
Reserve & Recharge: Reserve a charger in advance to ensure it’s available upon arrival.
Cross-Border Roaming: Charge at Shell Recharge sites across Malaysia and Singapore using the same app, a unified platform that enhances convenience for cross-border EV travel.
Live Charging Updates: Track your charging sessions easily as this app provides you real-time updates.
Find a Charger Easily: Find the nearest available chargers, to help you plan your route with ease through the in-app site locator.
Building on Shell’s progress in expanding its Shell Recharge network, the new app includes Malaysia’s first North to South, and East Coast to West Coast high-performance charging (HPC) corridor, and the highest altitude EV charging hub at Genting Highlands.
The network designed to support long-distance and interstate EV travel in Peninsular Malaysia highlights Shell’s commitment to providing greater convenience and peace of mind for Malaysian drivers.
Shell Mobility & Convenience Malaysia general manager Seow Lee Ming said the Shell Recharge App marks the next chapter of the company's evolution in EV charging.
"It builds on the progress made over the years in expanding our high-performance charging network, and enhancing reliability for EV drivers across Malaysia.
"With the new Shell Recharge App, we are powering progress further by enabling an easier, smoother, and more seamless journey so that customers have confidence to go further with Shell.
"It also reinforces Shell’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s energy transition, while supporting the growing community of EV drivers," she said at the launch of the mobile app at Shell Bukit Jalil TPM, Kuala Lumpur.
To celebrate this milestone, all Shell Recharge App users will enjoy a special rate of RM1.11 per kWh when charging at all Shell Recharge HPC sites across Malaysia on Nov 11.
