New VW Golf R soon to break cover
By JAY WONG | 15 October 2020
WOLFSBURG: A teaser of some sort has surfaced regarding the Volkswagen Golf R (Mk8) and its official debut.
On Nov 4, both the Golf R as well as the T-Roc R (VW's potent little crossover) will be making their respective official premiers.
Of course, the Golf R should be powered by a more potent 2.0-litre turbocharged four-potter than its other Golf stablemates.
The engine should provide some 316hp and 420Nm of torque that's managed by nothing less than a DSG dual-clutch transmission.
Following its launch, sale for this hot hatch will likely begin in Europe during the first quarter of 2021 followed by the rest of the world.
