KUALA LUMPUR: Nexen Tire Malaysia has launched two new safety focused tyre ranges that were developed for both electric vehicles (EVs) and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
The N'Blue S is a touring tyre engineered for wet-road performance, reducing the risk aquaplaning.
The N'Blue S has a tread design that can channel water away from the contact patch to reduce the risk of aquaplaning, while a low rolling resistance construction helps reduce fuel consumption.
The range is fitted as original equipment on selected vehicles including the Volkswagen Golf and Audi A3, and is available in Malaysia in 110 sizes spanning 14 to 17-inch rim diameters.
Meanwhile, the N’Fera Primus UX is an ultra-high-performance tyre with a reinforced construction for enhanced comfort and stability.
The N’Fera Primus UX also delivers 20 per cent improved tread wear over its predecessor.
Designed around the One Universal Fit strategy, the N’Fera Primus UX is suitable for marques ranging from European to Japanese, South Korean and Chinese makes.
Nexen Tire Malaysia pointed out that EVs have heavier curb weights and instant torque, thus placing different demands on tyre engineering, tread design and compound safety.
The company said, "Nexen Tire's EV Root mark makes it easy for owners to identify EV-compatible tyres."
Drawing on more than eight decades of South Korean tyre manufacturing and research and development, both ranges carry the EV Root mark, signifying tyres that can handle the added weight and instant torque of an EV without the need for a separate EV-specific version.
Both ranges are covered under the Nexen Tire Exchange Programme, which provides six months of unconditional one-to-one replacement against eligible road hazard damage.
The programme is available now through participating distributors, and customers are required to register their tyres at the point of purchase.
Nexen Tire Malaysia is also developing its own warranty programme to further strengthen customer support and enhance the ownership experience for Malaysian motorists.
