SHAH ALAM: Nippon Paint (Malaysia) recently held its Bengkel Keunggulan 2025 in order to bridge education and industry and future-proof the skills of Malaysia’s automotive talent.
Held at the Nippon Paint Malaysia MPH Expo in Subang Utama, Shah Alam, the event brought together over 300 participants, including spray painters, vocational students, workshop owners, industry experts, and influencers.
“Bengkel Keunggulan is about democratising access to next-generation refinishing technologies, helping local workshops and young professionals grow their craft, and building a greener, more modern auto industry,” said the company's general manager Tay Sze Tuck.
At the event, Nippon Paint demonstrated its full-suite Auto Refinish Coating System which supports every stage of the refinishing process, from surface preparation to final protective coatings.
The event also introduced participants to a range of breakthrough technologies to improve workshop performance, efficiency, and finish quality:
- 3D Colour System: This tool helps workshops see precisely how a colour will look on a car before they paint it, making it easier to choose the right shade.
- Fast Dry Formulation: Engineered to significantly reduce drying time, allowing technicians to spray more cars in less time and boost overall productivity.
- Crystal Coats: Offers a high-gloss, mirror-like finish that enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of any vehicle.
- High Performance Clear Coats: Designed for maximum durability and longevity, these coatings help retain a vehicle’s shine over time.

Also, Nippon Paint spotlighted its latest Water-Based Solutions, a pivotal advancement in environmentally responsible refinishing.
These solutions significantly reduce VOC and HAP emissions, enhance workplace air quality and safety, and support more energy-efficient workshop operations.
At the event, over 30 custom cars were showcased, each meticulously finished using Nippon Paint’s premium solutions.
Attendees also witnessed real-time applications at the Live Demo Zone, where experts demonstrated special effect finishes and the practical benefits of water-based systems in action.
