Nissan Serena e-Power to be launched in March, estimated price from RM160,000

KUANTAN: Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) announced that the sixth-generation Nissan Serena e-Power (C28) is scheduled for a March launch.

The seven-seater model has been given an estimated pricing between RM160,000 and RM180,000 though it is not known how many variants will make their way into the local market.

ETCM Executive Vice President Christopher Tan said more details from packages to variants will be unveiled during the multi-purpose vehicle's (MPVs) launch.

While most launch details are still up in the air, Tan did confirm there will no longer be a S-Hybrid variant since the brand's e-Power powertrain is the next step of advancement for Nissan models.

“The positive feedback which we have received on our Serena with the new e-Power makes us even more eager to start deliveries in March.

"Despite the competitive automotive landscape, we are confident that the new model will yet again raise the bar in the MPV class and reaffirm its best-selling MPV status," Tan added.

The Serena will be Nissan Malaysia’s second e-Power model after the Kicks.

Its e-Power system consists of a 1.4-litre three-cylinder engine that powers an EM57 motor to produce 163PS and 315Nm.

Nissan claims the MPV can achieve up to 1,000km on a full 52-litre tank while its 1.76kWh lithium-ion battery allows for pure electric vehicle (EV) driving.
