Nissan X-Trail e-Power x e-4orce debuts

KUALA LUMPUR: Edaran Tan Chong Motor, the official dealer for Nissan in Malaysia, is set to unveil the next evolution of the X-Trail e-Power x e-4orce.

This will help the brand mark a local electrification milestone within the Asean region with the X-Trail's introduction, which is set for the fourth quarter of 2026.

The X-Trail's introduction will represent the company's third model with e-Power technology, following the Kicks e-Power and Serena e-Power.

According to the company, Malaysia is seen as a country of growing importance in Nissan's regional strategy, hence why it was selected as one of the key markets for the new premium electrified sports utility vehicle (SUV).

The Nissan e-Power system uses a petrol engine solely to generate electricity, while the wheels are driven entirely by electric motors.

This allows drivers to enjoy the instant acceleration, refinement and smooth driving feel associated with electric vehicles, without the need to plug in for charging.

The highlight of the new X-Trail is Nissan’s advanced e-4orce all-wheel-control technology, which uses dual electric motors to independently manage torque distribution between the front and rear wheels.

Designed to enhance grip, stability and ride comfort, the system also optimises braking control at all four wheels, improving confidence across varying road and weather conditions.

Nissan says the technology delivers more precise handling and smoother acceleration than traditional mechanical all-wheel-drive systems, while maintaining comfort for passengers.

It is among the highlights at the KL International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026), taking place from June 12 to 21 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.

At KLIMS 2026, the X-Trail e-Power x e-4orce shared the spotlight with Nissan’s growing electrified portfolio, reinforcing the brand’s ambition to make advanced electrified mobility more accessible to Malaysian consumers.

With its combination of electrified performance, intelligent all-wheel control and SUV practicality, the new X-Trail is expected to strengthen Nissan’s presence in Malaysia’s competitive SUV market.
