Omoda C7 PHEV goes public at 2026 Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week launch

KUALA LUMPUR: Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia's (O&J) C7 makes a public appearance once more, this time as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) at the 2026 Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week launch in Mandarin Oriental.

The model, in its 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol powertrain setting, was previously shown at the Gen-O ‘lifestyle community’ launch held last month.

It had its first public appearance at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025.

No details were given of the PHEV variant such as confirmed specs or even its launch. What we can assume is that it'll be equipped with a Super Hybrid System (SHS) powertrain that is shared with the Jaecoo J7 PHEV.

The assumption sees a 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine paired to an electric motor and a single-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

It is said the model has the capacity for a 95km all-electric range and a total combined drive range of 1,250km.

Highlights in the interior are a slidable 15.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with a absence of a glovebox and a 12+2 speaker Sony audio system.

The Omoda C7 is the first model designed specifically for O&J's international markets and is positioned between the Chery O5 and the flagship Omoda C9.

On a side note, O&J announced it is the fifth best-selling electric vehicle (EV) brand in 2026. The announcement was made alongside the booking commencement of the Jaecoo J5 EV whose estimated price will start from start from RM125,000.
