Omoda&Jaecoo names CEO for UK operations
By CARSIFU | 17 February 2025
LONDON: Omoda&Jaecoo (that's how China's Chery Auto is swinging its sub-brands in the UK) has officially announced the appointment of Gary Lan (pic) as chief executive officer (CEO) for the UK, effective immediately.
In his new role, Lan will be responsible for steering the company’s operations across the country, overseeing the expansion of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, and strengthening their presence in one of Europe’s key automotive markets.
Lan’s appointment marks a crucial milestone for the company, coinciding with the official UK debut of the Jaecoo brand and the start of Jaecoo 7 customer deliveries at the end of January. This follows closely on the heels of Omoda’s launch in September 2024.
Part of his job description includes accelerating momentum, streamlining operations, enhancing brand awareness and delivering a premium experience for customers and partners alike.
Lan has held key positions, mostly in China. He was with Lincoln Motors in China, where he served as vice president of sales and vice president of product marketing and brand management.
His career has also led to director-level positions at Ford in China, as well as key roles at Jiangling Motor Company in China and Mazda in Taiwan, where he was involved in market strategy, brand development and sales performance.
Lan will work closely with Victor Zhang, who continues in his role as UK country director for Omoda&Jaecoo.
