By THE STAR | 10 December 2023KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 12,300 traffic offenders managed to settle their summonses in conjunction with the Madani Government One Year Anniversary programme at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, says Comm Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri.
The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director on Dec 8 and Dec 9 said, a total of 37,242 traffic summonses were paid at 14 counters as well as via discount vouchers on the MyBayar Saman PDRM portal and application.
"A total of 39 personnel were assigned to the counters, including a counter for senior citizens and the disabled," he said in a statement today.
The counters, which were supposed to open from 9am till 6pm, had their operational hours extended to 9pm to allow the public to make payments during the 50% discount drive.
"We received a very good response from the public.
"However, we advise the public not to only wait for such discounts to be offered to settle their outstanding traffic summonses," he added.
Comm Mohd Azman also reminded the public to abide by traffic laws and regulations.
"Enforcement operations will be conducted continuously to ensure the safety of all road users," he said.
