Over 20K Proton e.MAS vehicles registered

SUBANG JAYA: There are now more than 20,000 Proton e.MAS vehicles on Malaysian roads.

Meanwhile, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV (plug-in hybrid) is Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid model year-to-date, with 1,755 units registered.

Since its launch in early February, the Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has recorded more than 6,500 bookings.

In April 2026, the model recorded 1,013 registrations.

“Surpassing the 20,000-unit milestone reflects the strong trust Malaysian customers have placed in Proton e.MAS. More importantly, it indicates a clear shift in Malaysia, where more drivers are embracing electrified mobility with confidence,” said Pro-Net CEO Zhang Qiang.

Overall, the Proton e.MAS lineup has achieved 20,509 cumulative registrations year-to-date.

These comprise 10,067 units of the Proton e.MAS 7 and 8,687 units of e.MAS 5, with April 2026 contributing 3,421 registrations across the range; including 1,772 units of e.MAS 5 and 636 units of e.MAS 7.

“As our electric vehicle base continues to grow, it is equally important that we strengthen the ecosystem supporting our customers. Our focus remains on ensuring a reliable, seamless and enjoyable ownership experience that builds long-term confidence in electrified mobility,” Zhang Qiang added.

Currently, the Proton e.MAS network comprises 53 dealer operations nationwide, supported by 10 body and paint centres, with 3S centres expanding towards 40 locations.

In parallel, service capabilities and technical readiness are being enhanced to ensure faster turnaround times and improved customer convenience.
