Over 50 summonses issued for offences involving vehicle licence plates

SHAH ALAM: More than fifty police summonses were issued during a special operation that targeted vehicle number plates that do not meet specifications.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Baharudin Mat Taib, in a statement today, said the operation was conducted on Nov 13 around the Seksyen 14 area.

"The operation commenced at 10pm and concluded at around 2am. Around 113 vehicles and 132 people were inspected, leading to 144 summonses issued,” he said.

"Of that, 54 summonses were issued for offences regarding vehicle number plates. The police also seized 22 motorcycles for illegal modifications and for driving without licences," added ACP Baharudin.

From Nov 1 until 13, district police have issued 328 summonses for offences relating to non-compliance with vehicle licence plate regulations, he added.
