Over 8 million summonses paid during discount period
By BERNAMA | 01 January 2022DUNGUN: A total of 8.6 million outstanding traffic summonses were settled during the discount period launched in conjunction with the 100-Day Keluarga Malaysia Aspirasi Programme.
The programme was held from Dec 9 until Friday. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah said this proved that the traffic summons discount offer was well received by the public, considering that 12.2 million summonses were settled throughout 2021.
“The public took advantage of the discount offer to settle their outstanding summonses,” he was quoted as saying by Bernama after visiting the Kampung Jongok Batu on-site control post here today.
Asked if there were plans to extend the discount, Acryl Sani said no.
He said this was because the number of people paying their summonses at the traffic payment counters nationwide had reduced by the end of last month.
