In an emergency, everyone understands the anxiety of not knowing if help is on the way and this is something that the Toyota 24Seven Road Assist mobile application addresses.

It comes with a key feature built into the mobile application include an SOS button with a real time tracking feature.

Users have the ability track the travel route and time of the help that is on the way to them.

Further assurance is that the help is from a trusted Authorised Toyota Outlet or service provider.

Car owners even have the choice of selecting their preferred Toyota Outlet to assist in a service that is offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year long nationwide.

UMW Toyota Motor president Ravindran K said the company had been providing the Toyota 24Seven Road Assist for the last 20 years.

“This is a service that continually undergoes enhancements to ensure that they never have to worry when they are on the road.

“As mobile technology grows more advanced, naturally the next logical step would be to introduce a mobile application that would bring this service to the next higher level,” he said.

Toyota 24Seven Road Assist offers free minor on-the-spot repairs and nationwide towing (up to 50km) to all Toyota owners (terms and conditions apply).

Ravindran said that in addition to revolutionising the automotive industry, connected mobility also enabled greater peace of mind with the ownership of a car.

“In the case of Toyota, the Toyota 24Seven Road Assist mobile application interphases with our Toyota Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) that is built into our new generation of models.

“This enables the driver to form somewhat of a personal and unique relationship with his vehicle, an interaction that was never available 20 to 30 years ago,” he said.

The Toyota Vehicle Telematics System was introduced by UMW Toyota Motor in 2019 and has since been used by many Toyota customers via the mobile application.

With VTS, the vehicle can be monitored using GPS, with its location able to be pinpointed via the mobile application.

This not only helps the relevant authorities whenever there is a need for vehicle recovery, but the system is also able to detect impact in which case emergency services may be dispatched to the scene.

VTS also allow car owners to review the trip history with minute-to-minute reports, the distance covered, and overall duration of their journey.

Another offering of the app is the ability to review driving patterns during the journey as well as set safety parameters to monitor loved ones’ journey when necessary especially for new or younger drivers.
