RAWANG: Perodua has reduced prices for its Axia model, Malaysia's most affordable compact car, by up to RM4,700, effective immediately.
“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians,” said Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Prices excluding insurance for the 1.0-litre Axia are reduced by RM4,700 (G variant); RM1,500 (X); RM1,000 (SE) and RM500 (AV).
In Peninsular Malaysia, this means prices are now RM33,900 (G variant); RM38,500 (X); RM43,000 (SE) and RM49,000 (AV).
In East Malaysia, prices are now RM35,900 (G variant); RM40,500 (X); RM45,000 (SE) and RM51,000 (AV).
All specifications and quality standards for the Axia remain unchanged, and the company said the cost savings are derived entirely from process improvements and operational efficiencies.
“The new pricing also reflects our ongoing efforts to further improve our operational effectiveness, which has similarly translated into reduced service costs and revised pricing for the QV-E and Battery as a Service (BaaS) offerings,” said Zainal.
“The revised pricing is the outcome of sustained, continuous improvement initiatives undertaken in close collaboration with our local suppliers and partners within the automotive ecosystem."
