RAWANG: Perodua has announced that it has extended its operating hours for selected service centres as well as body and paint (B&P) hubs, effective immediately.
The company's pilot project will involve 16 service centres and three B&P hubs nationwide which will operate from 8.00am to 9.00pm (Peninsular Malaysia) and 7.45am to 8.45pm (East Malaysia) from Monday to Saturday.
“We know that many of our valued customers’ vehicles are overdue for servicing as our nationwide operations were shut for two months due to the Movement Control Order (MCO),” said Perodua president and chief executive officer Datuk Zainal
The local carmaker said that 2.35mil service intakes were experienced in 2019 via its 202 service centres nationwide.
“We are therefore extending the operating hours of selected service centres and B&P hubs to meet the high demand and continue to give our valued customers total peace of mind,” added Zainal.
Customers wanting to service their vehicles are required to secure an appointment slot beforehand with their service centre of choice with walk-ins still not accepted at present.
Zainal added that the pilot project should help to ease the demand for servicing of Perodua vehicles - especially in major regions.
“We will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of this pilot project continually but for now, it will run until further notice,” he said.
The company stated that all visitors to the service centres and B&P hubs must undergo temperature checks prior to entering the outlets as well as register their details and adhere to social distancing markers within the outlets at all times.
Also, hand sanitisers have been placed at key locations, while the outlets themselves are regularly sanitised.
“As a People First company, this initiative represents Perodua’s perpetual commitment to put our valued customers first in everything we do,” concluded Zinal.
