Petrol stations, eateries, convenience stores can open until midnight, says Hisham
By THE STAR | 21 September 2021KUALA LUMPUR: Petrol stations, eateries and convenience stores will soon be allowed to operate from 6am to midnight, said Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
This will apply to all states, regardless of which phase under the National Recovery Plan (NRP) they are in.
The exception would only be for localities placed under an enhanced movement control order.
Hishammuddin said this was one of the decisions agreed upon in the Covid-19 Quartet Ministers Meeting which also involves Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, Communications and Multimedia Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.
The proposal, said Hishammuddin, will be tabled to the Special Committee on Pandemic Management which is chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
Ismail Sabri will announce more once the decision receives approval.
