Petron gets SIRIM Genuine Product License

KUALA LUMPUR: Petron Malaysia has been awarded the SIRIM Genuine Product License — a license obtained under the Certification and Marking of Engine Oils (for Motor Vehicles) Order 2024, allowing the company to apply for SIRIM Genuine Product Labels for its engine oils in Malaysia.

Having this label provides independent assurance to customers that Petron engine oils are genuine and consistently manufactured to specification.

The certification is granted under the SIRIM 58 Standard – Certification Scheme for Genuine Product (Engine Oil for Motor Vehicles).

This scheme ensures compliance with standards, supports legitimate manufacturers and importers, and protects consumers by eliminating counterfeit engine oils from the market.

The range of Petron lubricants that will carry the new SIRIM stickers are:

• Petron Blaze Racing series
• Petron Rev-X series
• Petron Rider 4T series
• Petron 2T series
• Super Tractor Universal Oil (STOU)

This recognition follows the successful completion of inspections, audits, and certification processes, demonstrating Petron’s commitment to quality, authenticity, and consumer trust.

Petron Malaysia head of commercial business Mohd Asri Ibrahim shared, "Petron is proud to have been awarded the SIRIM Genuine Product License which reinforces the quality, authenticity and reliability of our engine oils. It also reflects our commitment to provide better engine protection for our customers’ vehicles.”

The official certificate presentation ceremony was held at Petron Malaysia headquarters in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur led by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd senior general manager, testing services department Azmi Musa.

With this milestone, Petron will be eligible to apply and use the SIRIM Certification Mark and Security Label across its certified range.
