KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Malaysia Bhd has handed over four units of the 1.5-litre turbocharged Honda CR-V sport utility vehicles (SUVs) to the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), to be used as enforcement vehicles.
In a statement, PLUS said this was to strengthen the strategic collaboration that has been made for over 30 years between the group and RMP, as well as the consistent commitment in ensuring the safety of highway users.
In a ceremony held at the RMP Headquarters, Bukit Aman, the Honda CR-V units were handed over by PLUS managing director Datuk Nik Airina Nik Jaffar to the Inspector-General of Police IG Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail.

The handover ceremony was also attended by RMP director of logistic and technology department, CP Gilberd Philip Layang, deputy director (enforcement/traffic control/summons management) traffic investigation and enforcement department DCP Mohd Rozi Jidin, RMP secretary DCP Datuk Kamaruzaman Abdullah and PLUS operations senior general manager Mohd Yusuf Abdul Aziz.
PLUS also said the enforcement vehicles aim to further strengthen the RMP's Expressway Mobile Patrol Vehicle (EMPV) force in effectively carrying out law enforcement, patrolling and
monitoring along the PLUS-operated highways.
"This initiative represents one of the strategic collaborations between PLUS and RMP to ensure a safe journey on the highway while enhancing the enforcement efficiencies along the
PLUS highway stretch," said the group.
