PLUS prepares measures for smooth Ramadan traffic
By THE STAR | 10 March 2024KUALA LUMPUR: There will be several measures put in place to ensure the smooth operation of highways and toll plazas under PLUS Malaysia during Ramadan, says the highway concessionaire.
These include ensuring all entrance and exit lanes at toll plazas are fully operational and providing mobile toll payment reader and support aid, it said.
It added that all maintenance work at toll plazas would be carried out only until 4.30pm to avoid any disruption to the traffic flow.
“PLUS will also increase the number of front-line staff at toll plazas as well as assign a technical assistance team to be on standby,” it said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.
The company will also ensure all public facilities at rest and relaxation areas are fully functioning to accommodate the expected high demand.
It advised highway users to ensure that their Touch ‘n Go card or ewallet (for those using RFID) has sufficient balance before starting their journey to avoid any inconvenience.
According to PLUS, based on the data and traffic movement patterns during last Ramadan, peak hour lasts from 5pm to 6pm on every working day. As such, it recommends all motorists to plan their journey and avoid moving during this hour for more comfort.
Highway users are encouraged to download the PLUS mobile application to get the latest traffic information and follow the latest traffic reports via the @PLUSTrafik application on X, Putri Chatbot, the country’s main radio channels and electronic signage at selected locations.
Highway users can also contact PLUSLine at 1800-88-0000 to get help in case of an emergency.
