KUALA LUMPUR: Several locations of roadblocks nationwide will be moved to more strategic positions, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bado (pic).

He said this was necessary following the conditional movement control order (MCO), which was announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin today.

"Some of these roadblocks will be moved to more strategic locations, including to check the entry of illegal immigrants, ” he said.

Abdul Hamid said more monitoring teams would be formed to ensure public compliance to social distancing.

Prior to this, Muhyiddin, in a special message in conjunction with Labour Day today, said a big part of the economic and social activities would be allowed from May 4.

However, he said they were subject to conditions and standard operating procedures (SOPs), that had been set.

Citing restaurants as an example, he said they are allowed to operate and must observe the business SOP set by the Government.

Outdoor sports activities such as playing badminton or tennis outside without an audience, jogging, cycling, golf and running comprising not more than 10 persons are allowed on condition social distancing is practised, he added.
