KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the sole authorised importer and distributor of Porsche vehicles and parts in Malaysia, has enhanced its Premium Package for the Macan compact sports utility vehicle (SUV).
From now until Dec 31, three new items have been included in the package which accompanies the Macan as standard without increasing its base price of RM439,351.
Those looking to pick up a Macan should do so before Dec 31 to take advantage of the current RM15,649 savings thanks to the 50% sales tax reduction for CBU vehicles by the government.
The new items within in the package now include Comfort Access (keyless entry system), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system and Park Assist - now with Surround View instead of a reverse camera.
The items expand from the package's existing items which includes a pair of 14-way powered front seats with memory function, Comfort Lighting package (full-LED cabin), Power Steering Plus (speed-sensitive electromechanical power steering system), electrochromic (auto-dimming) mirrors and a Bose Surround sound system with Apple CarPlay.
The company says that this brings the value of the enhanced Premium Package to more than RM39,000.
The Macan is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 252hp and 370Nm of torque while being managed by a seven-speed Porsche Dopplekupplung (Porsche double-clutch) gearbox.
This allows the compact SUV to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 6.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 225kph.
Its latest prominent features include the three-dimensional LED light panel at the rear to keep with Porsche’s design DNA and the new fully interconnected Porsche communication management system with a 10.9-inch touchscreen.
“The introduction of the new enhanced Premium Package for our best-selling model, the Macan, is a great way to introduce more people to the brand, especially given the rising popularity of the Macan and the overall compact SUV segment over the past few years," said SDAP chief executive officer Christopher Hunter.
At present, the company is putting its finishing touches on its soon-to-be-launched new flagship Porsche Centre Ara Damansara while its upcoming Porsche Centre Johor Baru has been scheduled to commence operations in 2021.
