Porsche Malaysia updates the 911 GT3, now with Touring package

SEPANG: Porsche's 2025 update of the 911 GT3 is officially available in Malaysia.

The new model launches with two versions simultaneously for the first time in the country - the standard model with a striking rear wing made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) and a Touring package option.

Both models house an upgraded naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine that delivers 375kW (510PS) and 450Nm, shorter gear ratios (eight percent shorter than in the predecessor), suspension and aerodynamic tweaks as well as a new digital cockpit.

Two gearbox options are available for both models - a seven-speed dual clutch transmission (PDK) and the six-speed GT manual transmission.

The PDK option allows the new 911 GT3 to accelerate from zero to 100kph in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 311kph. Meanwhile, the manual gearbox results in 3.9s and 313kph, respectively.

Design-wise the sharpened front and rear gives emphasis on improved aerodynamics, with the other new body elements consisting of a re-contoured front diffuser, a refined spoiler lip shape and modified fins on the underbody that increases downforce and optimise the air flow.

Weighing in at just 1,420kg, the rear wing of the 911 GT3 has new angled sideplates while the Touring package has a rear seat system available as an option for the first time.

Its redesigned Matrix LED headlights, available on the 911 GT3 models with an optional white accent ring, combine all the light functions of the 911 and eliminate the need for additional lights in the front apron.

The models run on 255/35 ZR 20 (front) and 315/30 ZR 21 (rear) sports tyres with improved wet grip as standard. Road-approved rack tyres are available as an option.

Inside is a standard black two-seater cockpit that is based on the design of the current 911 range with a digital instrument panel in the centre.

The 911 GT3's new lightweight sports bucket seat with a folding backrest is equipped with an integrated thorax airbag, electric height adjustment and manual longitudinal adjustment.

A seat shell made of CFRP, a three-stage seat heater and an Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with electric 18-way adjustment are available as options.

Unlike the Carreras, the 2025 911 GT3 still has a rotary ignition switch instead of a starter with a button. Roll-over bar is available as an option.

New and highly customer-focused options such as the circuit-focus Weissach package is available for the first time in the 911 GT3.

Said package adds an anti-roll bar, coupling rods and shear panel on the rear axle that are made of CFRP as are the roof, sideplates of the rear wing, door handles, exterior mirror top shell, mirror triangle and the airblades in the front area.

The interior is enhanced with leather and Race-Tex upholstery while the upper side of the dashboard, for the first time, is covered in anti-glare Race-Tex.

A CFRP roll cage and magnesium lightweight forged wheels are available as options.

The Clubsport package for track use is available at no extra charge. It includes a bolted steel roll cage in the rear, a 6-point harness for the driver and a hand-held fire extinguisher. The optional lightweight sports bucket seats are a prerequisite for this.

Offered on the Touring is the Leichtbau (lightweight) package that has a painted roof while the stabiliser, coupling rods and shear panel on the rear axle are made of CFRP.

Lightweight magnesium forged wheels and lightweight door panels are also part of the package.

A shortened gear lever from the 911 S/T is used in conjunction with the standard 6-speed GT sports gearbox. In front of the gear lever is a plaque with the “Leichtbau” inscription to indicate the package.

The 911 GT3 and GT3 with Touring package lineup is priced from RM2,290,000.
